Roger de Rabutin comte de Bussy 1618-1693

Commonly known as Bussy-Rabutin, was a French memoirist. He was the cousin and frequent correspondent of Madame de Sévigné.
Born at Epiry, near Autun, he represented a family of distinction in Burgundy, and his father, Léonor de Rabutin, was lieutenant general of the province of Nivernais.

Monsieur Gaston, Duke of Orléans , was the third son of King Henry IV of France and his second wife, Marie de’ Medici. As a son of the king, he was born a Fils de France. He later acquired the title Duke of Orléans, by which he was generally known during his adulthood.
