Franz II, Holy Roman Emperor 1768-1835

Francis II was the last Holy Roman Emperor, ruling from 1792 until 6 August 1806, when he dissolved the Holy Roman Empire after the decisive defeat at the hands of the First French Empire led by Napoleon at the Battle of Austerlitz.

Henry was the son of Charles III, Duke of Lorraine and Claude of Valois daughter of Henry II of France and Catherine de’ Medici.[3] His paternal grandparents were Francis I, Duke of Lorraine, and Christina of Denmark. The splendour of his baptism in Bar-le-Duc was recalled by his aunt Margaret of Valois, who was ten at the time.
