Ludwig Wilhelm von Baden-Baden 1655-1707

Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm von Baden-Baden, called Türkenlouis  was regent in the Margraviate of Baden-Baden, builder of the castle in Rastatt, lieutenant general in the imperial army and a successful general in the wars against the Turks. The Ottomans called him the “Red King” because of his red uniform jacket, which could be seen from afar.
