Johann Fernberger von Aur 1511-1584

Imperial troop leader, born in 1511 in Aur an der Etsch, 1584 as mayor of Vienna. The son of a landsknecht and growing up without any schooling, F. chose a career as a soldier, was enlisted in the imperial occupation troops in Italy in 1530 and subsequently took part in the war against Francis 1 of France. Sent to the army in Hungary in 1540, he was wounded in a bloody but unsuccessful attack on Ofen and was taken prisoner by the Turks in a later battle. After he had freed himself again by paying a ransom, he came to this again in the Milanese war

Wolfgang Theodoricus Raitenavius or more rarely Wolfgangus Theodoricus a Raitenau 1559 in the palace of Hofen died 1617 in the castle of the city of Salzburg) was the archbishop prince of Salzburg from in 1587 until 1612. Before that he was abbot of the monastery at Murbach for a short time. The buildings and squares, which were ordered to be constructed by the architect Santino Solari, contribute a great deal to the modern appearance of Juva.

Michael Johann von Althann 1679-1722

Johann Michael was a member of the noble Althann family, son of Michael Johann von Althann and his wife Princess Maria Theresa of Liechtenstein. Inducted into the court, he became imperial chamberlain, privy councilor and finally, from 1716 to 1722, Oberststallmeister on behalf of Emperor Charles VI of the Holy Roman Empire. Although he had not held high-profile positions at court, his figure was particularly significant and had considerable influence as the emperor’s favourite.
